Safija’s incarnates all those marvellous features that are intrinsic part of genetic heritage of these regions, Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It cherishes a spirit of a long gone, but fine times, when people were devotedly appreciating kindness, modesty, refinement, good manners, hospitality, culture, arts…Times when it was equally important to take special care about quality of food as well as about proper serving and appropriate course of dishes served. Safija’s character was inevitably marked by her love for a man who did not belong in her world, equally as she was a stranger to his, facts that made their love almost impossible in those days. But as we already know – love, when strong and selfless, is indestructible and nothing can stand on its way. Safija’s and Johan’s story overgrew both time and space and became one of most magical love stories in this region. As a pledge of his love, Johan gave Safija a house on Čekaluša that modest as she was, regardless of wealth Safija came from, she wished for.
4 sobe gospođe Safije is a concept that unites several components under its roof: restaurant, wine and cocktail bar, lounge room and Safija’s Garden. In years since its establishment, this restaurant gained iconic status in Sarajevo, and as good news travel fast and far, Safija’s is nowadays first on the “must visit” list of visitors coming to Sarajevo from all over the world. Cuisine of the restaurant is based on exotic fusion of modern cooking and traditional gems of BiH cuisine. This restaurant is taking special care that ingredients used are coming mostly from local productions.

Ett måste i Sarajevo!
Great experience and food
My boyfriend and I were recommended this restaurant by locals. It is a bit more expensive than the average restaurant in Sarajevo (we paid around 400 KM for 5 courses, wine, and cocktails). The staff was friendly and service very good. The food came rather quickly and was delicious, and a few of the dishes were different compared to what we have tried before. This was a pleasant surprise.
The space is lovely, and we were fortunate to sit in their cute garden.
Beautiful place and great food
The whole place is beautiful, the food is unique and delicious, great service, would recommend it to anyone passing by Sarajevo.
Best Restaurant in Sarajevo!
I have visited Sarajevo for about a week and have tried out their most rated restaurants. By far this one was the best one. The Setup, The Staff, The Food, everything was just perfect. Highly recommend!
Great food in a beautiful location
Before we came to Sarajevo, we had heard that The Four Rooms of Mrs. Safije was the trendiest restaurant in Sarajevo and we were not disappointed!
The location is beautiful, in an old Austro-Hungarian house that has been lovingly restored. The menu is relatively small but with a good range of options, including for vegetarian diners.
For the starters, we tried a trio of veal and beef meatballs and the tuna tartare. Both were delicious - the tartare fresh and light, almost like a ceviche, while the meatballs were generously sized and rich in flavour.
For the main course, we ordered a roast cauliflower and harissa salad, and a grilled beef dish. The salad was good, although the creamy and nutty sauce was a little undermined by the number of figs in the salad. The beef was grilled to perfection, a crispy and salty crust giving way to a meltingly tender middle.
Finally, we ordered desert and were blown away. Perhaps the chef was a chocalatier in another life, because the deserts were truly outstanding. On the conventional side, we had a chocolate cake packed with a thick chocolate sauce accompanied with ice cream. Not a complicated dish, but one that came with the deliciously crumbly texture of a brownie and a tartly acidic raspberry puree.
For the more adventurous, we ordered a coconut mousse which came in the form of tree, complete with a chocolate trunk and mint candyfloss foliage - playful, tasty and completely in keeping with my theory that desert should be worth the extra calories!
A great evening and well worth trying if you're in Sarajevo!
Ottimo locale grande attenzione per la tavola camerieri molto preparati e portate deliziose curate nei minimi particolari ! Promosso a pieni voti
Nice food and nice restaurant
This place is very nice, upstairs ambient is romantic and there was an exposition when we were there. Food is nice but not wow. No comments on quality but the combination of food and tastes was just a bit off for me.
Mekan güzel ama pahali
Mekan güzel ama yemek porsiyonu az. Ve fiyat hizmet dengesi yok.fiyatlar ortalamanin üzerinde pahalı. Garson ilgili ve alakalı idi. Yemek lezzeti gayet güzel.
Great, interesting meni. Apperitivs were excellent specially "deep forest" with mushroms. The service is professional and thed place is one of the kind. I will get back for sure
